Madeleine is from the oaks and pines, winding rivers, and wildflower-covered canyons at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. She studied Environmental Studies, Economics, and Sustainability at the University of California, Santa Cruz. While at UC Santa Cruz and working at Rooster Ridge Farm in Aptos, her love of flowers blossomed into the idea of a floral career. From there, Madeleine gained valuable experience working at the historic San Francisco Flower Market for Gather Flora, where she found further inspiration in the beauty of local flowers and the artistry of the talented Bay Area florists - several of whom she had the privilege of working alongside. She now flowers for weddings and events as well as freelances for other floral artists in Northern California and beyond. The name Amie comes from her radio DJ persona - DJ Amie, meaning lover or friend which she has used at KZSC Santa Cruz and KVMR Nevada City.
